The Back House Studio

All songs recorded in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Written, played, sung, recorded, mixed and produced by Hazy Summerz.

Not an easy task getting studio equipment to Tashkent. To use a British understatement: 'slightly tricky'.

Background

Hazy is a musical cousin to the energy of Luka State and The K's, and the melodies of The Sheratons and The Clause. Brendan R (Wood for Burning) says the riffs remind him of early The Cult albums.

Played in Portsmouth-based rock duo Big Splash in the 90s.

Hazy DJ'ed in the 00's and 10's, playing breakbeat to crowds in Egypt and Thailand. At one point turned his Cairo apartment into a makeshift club to host 'Berth D' club nights.

An Englishman abroad, he writes, plays, records, mixes and produces his own music in his studio The Back House.

As a side project, he creates dance tracks out of his rock songs.

Lyrics

Universal truths. Hazy's not one for love songs or obvious ones, anyway. Ooh baby baby...

Hazy's a lifelong learner. He sings, plucks, strums and bangs on things every day. 'You can only get better the more you play.'

Musicianship

Releasing 21 songs between November 2024 and September 2025. Plus dance track versions of his songs.

High energy, British Rock'n'Roll from multi instrumentalist and singer songwriter, Hazy Summerz. Thumping drums. Fat basslines. Pulsating rhythmic guitar riffs. Baritone vocals. Songs about universal truths.
